BOAO FORUM FOR ASIA TO HOST OVER 1,000 GLOBAL THOUGHT LEADERS AT ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2010

Over 1,000 global thought leaders, including government, business, and academic leaders will gather in Boao, China, between April 9th and 11th for the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2010. Now in its ninth year, the BFA Annual Conference has become the pre-eminent international economic forum in Asia. The theme of this year’s conference is Green Recovery: Asia’s Realistic Choice for Sustainable Growth.

Compared to previous years, the 2010 Annual Conference will experience a big increase in delegate numbers, as well as more diverse forms of interaction and dialogue. Building on the success of the Young Leaders Roundtable, BFA will launch a China CEO Roundtable for large multinational companies. So far, over 40 China and Asia/Pacific CEOs from multinational companies have confirmed their attendance at this highly interactive workshop. They will share their experiences and lessons learnt from doing business in China, and explore how to better engage in, and benefit from, the robust growth of this dynamic market. The impressive line-up for the roundtable has also drawn attention from local governments which see this as a unique opportunity to attract foreign investment.

The Boao Forum for Asia will continue to work together with the Asian Development Bank and publish the BFA Annual Report on Asian Economic Integration. The report will also come out in Chinese in addition to the previous English version so as to accommodate more Chinese readers. Meanwhile, the Forum will join hands with Chinese Academy of Science to launch a new bilingual report: the BFA Annual Report on Emerging Markets. The report will provide an overview and country-specific analysis on major emerging markets.
